The human rights issue that we studies is child soldiers. The use of child soldiers began in the 1800’s. People in Mozambique forced at least three hundred thousand children into being soldiers in armed conflicts as members of government militaries. Child soldiers are not just boys; both boys and girls from the ages 10 to 18 years of age have been made soldiers, but some are sometimes the children are younger than 10 years old. Most children picked up are orphans that were on the street because they are easier to be recruited. This practice was started due to from different wars, mainly the wars in Angola, Central African and African Republic.
The articles being violated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, are as follow: Article 3 ,Article 5 and Article 26.Article 3 touches on everyone has the right to live , to be free, and to feel safe. Article 5 touches on one's right to not feel less than human, as children are often more susceptible to influence they can be more easily dehumanized. Article 26 touches on everyone has the right to education. It should be free of charge and should be required for all, at least in early years later education for jobs and college has to be there for anyone who wants it and is able to do it .
Abubacar Sultan, Amnesty International and The United Nations Children's Fund are organizations that have sought out to end the enlistment of child soldiers. These organizations
are making this issue known by spreading the word to the unaware. As well as spreading the word, they’re raising money to help child soldiers that have been injured, and orphans, but it wasn't that easy , every organizations could not help every child in need of their services. Many things have come in each one of these organizations way but they was determine to make a change .
